1st. Day (Saturday) MARRAKECH
Arrival in Marrakech at your scheduled time and transfer to the hotel. Free time. Dinner and accommodation.
2nd. Day (Sunday) MARRAKECH-TIZI N’TICHKA- (OUARZAZATE) AIT BEN HADDOU (175 km)
After breakfast visit of Marrakech. The visit starts from the Koutouia Mosque, formerly used as a bookstore, it is the symbol of the city. We will continue to the sumptuous Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century by hundreds of artisans from Fez. Continuation from the Jewish quarter or Mellah through the kissaría square to the Djmaa El Fna square, a living museum and intangible cultural he- ritage of Humanity, where storytellers, snake charmers, jugglers, dancers and more, constitute an authentic court of miracles. We continue through the souk and its narrow streets full of shops, workshops and terraces to meet the guilds of carpenters, sharpeners and a Berber pharmacy of remedies and natural products mostly from argan and derivatives. At noon, departure to the Ouarzazate region, an important center for the country’s film industry. Here are the Atlas Studios, where nume- rous films have been recorded. We will cross the Tizi N’Tichka at 2,256 meters, in the High Atlas Mountains,connecting Marrakech with Ouarzazate and thus be- coming the first door to the Sahara. Optional lunch en route and arrival in the afternoon at Ait ben Haddou, the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most used scenes by Hollywood. Dinner and accommodation.
3rd. Day (Monday) AIT BEN HADDOU (OUARZAZATE)- TODRA GORGES-MERZOUGA (395 km)
Today will be an exciting day. After breakfast we will go through the valleys of the towns of Kelaa M’Gouna, famous for the cultivation of roses and Boumalne du Dades, formed by a large network of gorges ideal for hikers and climbers. We will make a stop to visit the Todra Gorges, which reach up to 300 meters in height. Continuation to the Sahara. Legend has it “When a rich family refused to help a poor woman and her son, God offended, buried them under mounds of sand 50 km from Arfoud, today known as the dunes of Erg Chebbi.” Dinner and accommodation in hotel or tent between dunes, according to your choice. 4th. Day (Tuesday) MERZOUGA-RISSANI-ARFOUD (65 km)
Breakfast. Possibility of spending the morning free at the camp or taking an optional excursion; which con- sists of a 4x4 tour around the giant dunes of Erg Chebbi. Throughout the morning the sun draws shadows and different colors on them. We will see nomads and their way of life, dromedaries grazing and we will visit the musicians of Khamlia. Return to the hotel to continue the route to Arfoud. Dinner and accommodation.
5th. Day (Wednesday) ARFOUD-ER RACHIDIAIFRANE-FEZ (420 km)
After breakfast we will leave for Fez, we will cross the Middle Atlas and its changes of landscapes. This long day will be enlivened by the rocky landscapes of Er Rich and palm groves, the plains of the Middle Atlas, the forests of the Azrou region and the snow-capped moun- tains of Ifrane. Late arrival to civilization, Fez. Dinner and accommodation.
6th. Day (Thursday) FEZ
Breakfast and visit of the first of the imperial cities. Fez is the intellectual and religious capital of Morocco. We will start with a panoramic tour from the hotel to visit the royal palace and its 7 gates or Dar Al-Makhzen on the way to the fascinating world of the medina of Fez El Bali, the oldest and most extensive in Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 785 mosques and more than 2,000 squares, streets and alleys that repre- sent a labyrinthine return in time. From Bab Boujloud to Es-Seffarine square we will make a journey through the centuries starting in the 9th century to the 19th century, along the walk we will know how these alleys are structured, the different constructions that make up the walls of the medina, in addition from its artisan guilds and neighborhoods such as leather tanners or seamstresses to see their old ways of working. We will know a Medersa and we will finish to the sound of the hammer of the potters working the copper as they did hundreds of years ago. Lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon we recommend taking an extra excursion to Meknes. Accommodation.
7th. Day (Friday) FEZ-RABAT-MARRAKECH (540 km)
Breakfast and departure to the administrative capital of the country, another of the imperial cities and official residence of the royal family. Rabat is an important and beautiful city that transmits tranquility and elegance. We will visit its key points such as the Tour Hassan, an unfinished mosque that rises dominating the esplanade with more than 200 columns and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, built in memory of the sultan who achieved the independence of the country and in which the royal guard, in colorful full dress, they guard the entrance to the monument on horseback. In the afternoon arrival in Marrakech. Dinner and accommodation.
8th. Day (Saturday) MARRAKECH
Breakfast and free morning until departure for transfer to the airport. End of services.
