The French Way is a must for all pilgrims who decide to take the route to Santiago de Compostela. This way takes its name after the country that it went through during medieval times and that left its footprint in such important places like Paris and its St. Jacques´ Tour. It will be, without a doubt, a real challenge for our body and our feet, an unforgettable experience. Not all of us are used to walking 20 kilometers a day, especially in so many days in a row. The value of this experience, the stunning beauty of the landscapes and the immeasurable cultural richness of this route, make it absolutely worth the effort, not to mention the exquisite gastronomy!

1st. Day SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA-SARRIA

Arrival to Santiago de Compostela and transfer on your own to Sarria. Sarria is known as the departure point for the classic last 100 km, which is the minimum distance that needs to be walked to get the Compostela. This lively Medieval Villa does not let anyone down, neither the experts nor the amateur pilgrims. This is a day to relax and to focus on the adventure that is about to start the next morning. We will step inside the deepest Galicia and we let her surround us by chestnut and oak trees, rivers and meadows. We will walk through charming towns such as Barbadelos or Ferreiros. The ancient town of Portomarin is sunk under the waters of the Belesar reservoir. The Miño River will let us know we are arrinving. Accommodation.

3rd. Day PORTOMARÍN-PALAIS DE REI (24,8 kms 6 hours aprox – difficulty level: low)
